Graph of f(x) = (x − 1)² − 4 in vertex, standard and factored form, with the vertex T(1, −4) and the zeros −1 and 3

What you can do

  • Move the sliders or drag the vertex: the vertex, standard and factored forms, the discriminant and the zeros change with the graph.
  • In a table of values, compare the first and second differences to see whether growth is linear or quadratic, for a formula or your own values.
  • In Predict and check, draw the graph of a given function or find the formula for a graph; the app checks the vertex and the opening.
  • Solve a quadratic inequality: the parabola is green above the x-axis and red below it, and the solution is marked on the x-axis and written with intervals.
  • Choose the axis range, show the grid or the axis of symmetry, and download the graph as a PNG with a white or transparent background.
