Algebra Tiles
Virtual algebra tiles: model expressions and equations, multiply with the area model and factorise quadratic trinomials.
Free, runs in the browser, no sign-in or installation.

What you can do
- Use unit tiles and tiles for up to three variables (x, y, z or a, b, c); red tiles are negative, and opposite tiles make a zero pair.
- On the Equation mat, set up an equation and solve it step by step: add the same to both sides, remove zero pairs and split into equal groups.
- The Multiplication, Factoring and Completing the square mats give new tasks, and the Show me button builds the answer as a rectangle.
- The expression made by the tiles is shown above the board, and the Substitute button checks it by putting numbers in place of the variables.
- Write on the board with a pen and download the view as a PNG with a white or transparent background.
